The Victorian Dance Festival (VDF) is gearing up for 2027, and the message from dancers is already clear: they want to be there.
Celebration Tickets went on sale in early September and quickly sold out, giving an early indication of the anticipation surrounding next year’s festival.
VDF has become a standout date on the Australian dance calendar, known for bringing together dancers, teachers, choreographers and industry leaders for a weekend that feels as much like a celebration as it does a convention.

For 2027, the festival is raising the bar again.
A major line-up of international guests will join leading Australian artists, giving dancers access to teachers and choreographers they would ordinarily have to travel overseas to experience. With further names and program details still to be revealed, some of the biggest announcements are yet to come.
Alongside the classes and performances, VDF offers something harder to put on a timetable: the chance to be immersed in the industry. It’s where young dancers can broaden their horizons, teachers can reconnect and recharge, and studios from around the country can share a weekend with thousands of people who understand exactly why dance matters so much to them.
Australia, get ready. VDF 2027 is coming – and this is one dance weekend you’re going to want to be part of.
