Class Manager studio software has recently announced some software updates and changes, but there seems to be some confusion around how these will affect Australian studio owners.

Here, Dance Informa went straight to the source to answer all your studio software FAQs.

What happened on the 1st of July?

“On the 1st of July, Class Manager released its new product (New Class Manager). Classic Class Manager (our previous software) will still be available for existing customers to use.”

How much is New Class Manager?

“New Class Manager is free to use. We only charge a small percentage fee per online payment taken.”

Can I still access my Classic Class Manager Account?

“Yes, you can still use your existing account and have access to everything including support from our amazing team. You can login to Classic Class Manager at https://app.classmanager.com/login.”

Will you still be maintaining Classic Class Manager?

“We will continue to support Classic Class Manager but we do not plan to add any major new features.”

When will I have to switch to New Class Manager?

“Classic Class Manager will not be closing, and customers will be able to continue using it. We have zero plans to remove Classic Class Manager and understand that lots of our customers will opt to stay with the existing Classic software as it better suits their needs.”

How do I move to New Class Manager?

“Book a call with the Class Manager team, and they’ll walk you through the new software while taking the time to understand your needs. From there, they can recommend the best course of action for you.

This might mean staying with Classic Class Manager or migrating to the new platform, but either way, the team will assess your situation and support you every step of the way.

You can book a call here: https://classmanager.com/demo-booking or email the team at hello@classmanager.com.”

Will I have to use Stripe?

“All new users of new Class Manager will have to give an option to their customers to pay with credit card. We started with one method to prove that we could make class enrolments and billing flexible for studios but easy to use for their customers.

The positive feedback now means that we are working on enabling additional pricing and payment options (including direct debit and bank transfer). We are aware that there are some Classic Class Manager customers who may want to continue with manual payments (e.g. cash and check) outside of the system. Our team can discuss all the options available to you.”

What are the card charges in New Class Manager?

“As mentioned above, New Class Manager does not require a monthly subscription. We have increased the % we take on every transaction, by a very small amount (~0.2%), which allows us to remove the subscription cost.

We think this is fairer as studios won’t be paying a monthly fee when they aren’t receiving any class fees and importantly, a large majority of our customers will be paying less for New Class Manager than they did with Classic Class Manager.

You can see the rate for credit card payments (including Stripe) at classmanager.com/prices.”
