This narrated ballet adaptation of the beloved fairy tale The Little Mermaid follows the captivating journey of Ariel, a rebellious mermaid enchanted by life on land. When Ariel falls in love with a human Prince, she makes a daring pact with the sea witch Ursula to become human herself. As the story unfolds, join SACBC to discover if true love can conquer all.
The Little Mermaid Ballet promises a highly polished performance with a diverse selection of music and an array of dazzling costumes, bringing an underwater world to life. Choreographed by the internationally renowned Paul Boyd from the Queensland Ballet Academy, and under the Artistic Direction of Cheryl Bradley, this production guarantees an extraordinary showcase of talent and creativity.

Boyd, the acclaimed dancer and choreographer, currently the head of the Queensland Ballet Academy, brings international experience and passion to the production. Having been a former dancer and performer, Boyd’s involvement with the SACBC is an opportunity to pass on his knowledge to the next generation. Bradley is a professional artist with diverse dance qualifications, and her expertise as an artistic director and choreographer adds depth and creativity to The Little Mermaid Ballet.
SACBC was established in 1986, and aims to nurture young dancers’ artistic potential by providing them with opportunities to perform regularly and experience the demands of the theatre. The company boasts an extensive repertoire, including classical, modern, contemporary and multicultural works commissioned from leading choreographers. SACBC operates as a non-profit organisation, relying on the support of volunteers, fundraisers and sponsorships.
