October promises to be an exciting month for dancers as two of Australia’s leading ladies of dance – Lucinda Dunn OAM and Debbie Ellis – head to the Gold Coast to take part in the most exciting and innovative dance convention.
Aptly titled the Come Together Dance Convention, the event facilitated by Australian Teachers of Dancing aims to bring together all facets of the dance industry (teachers, students, business owners and industry professionals) to share in knowledge, resources and each others’ passion for dance.
Dance Informa is proud to be the Media Sponsor for Come Together Dance Convention.
Following on from the incredibly successful convention in 2012, this year’s event, set for October 2-4, features a stellar line-up of speakers and instructors. The convention held over two levels of the beautiful Outrigger Surfers Paradise has something for everyone. Level One offers three jam-packed days of inspiring presentations, seminars and training opportunities for teachers, studio owners and dance professionals while Level Two provides dance students with three full days of incredible dance workshops with some of this country’s biggest names in dance.
If dance education is your passion, don’t miss this opportunity to come together with like-minded professionals to share information, ideas and most importantly, enjoy the benefit of continuing your professional development. The convention program consists of inspiring presentations from industry leaders on topics such as dance education, business, psychology, early childhood, alignment, pointe work, musical theatre, staging, props and technology.
Masterclasses and workshops will be held for students of a variety of age groups across contemporary, lyrical, jazz, classical, tap and hip-hop genres. These classes will also be an opportunity for teachers to observe the teaching practices of the elite teachers from around Australia.
Convention speakers include: Amy Hollingsworth, Lucinda Dunn OAM, Misty Lown (USA), Debbie Ellis, Jane Grech, Paul Malek, Marie Walton-Mahon, Clint Salter, Lisa Howell, Peta Lilley, Karen Malek and Kate Meade.
Student workshop instructors include: Marko Panzic, Paul Malek, Yvette Lee, Stephen Tannos, Anthony Ikin, Marie Walton-Mahon, Gaz Griffiths, Troy Phillips, Debbie Ellis and Jesse Rasmussen.
