On February 12th, Dance Journalist Grace Edwards will host the first in a monthly series of dance specials on radio in Victoria. The first segment is entitled The Ballets Russes – a programme exploring the history and significance of the Ballets Russes both internationally and in Australia. It will look at the music, stories, history and scandal of The Ballets Russes. The second segment, entitled Dance in Context will explore dance in its social and historical context, airing on March 12th.

Grace Edwards is a dance writer and radio broadcaster currently investigating the impact of the Ballets Russes tours to New Zealand in the thirties at the University of Melbourne. She has studied and performed a wide range of dance styles in both Australia and New Zealand, including historical Renaissance dance, classical ballet, contemporary dance and jazz. Grace combines her love for dance with a strong interest in music. She has studied both piano and voice, possesses a major in Musicology and regularly hosts the Friday late night classical music show, Night Owls, on 3MBS.
