AUSTI. Dance and Physical Theatre kicks off its 2025 season at the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre, unveiling two captivating new works choreographed by international artist Daniel Navarro Lorenzo and Sydney-based talent Genevieve Morris.
NOTHING MORE presents a pair of 30-minute dance theatre pieces that explore the subtle dance between absence and presence. Through the raw connection, vulnerability, and transformation of a single performer, these works—brought to life by a blend of familiar and emerging AUSTI artists—offer a profound and intimate experience.
Daniel Navarro Lorenzo, hailing from Spain, infuses his choreography with a dynamic physicality and intensity. His creations draw audiences into a vivid realm where movement becomes a language of its own, eloquently expressing the depths of human experience.
Sydney based choreographer Genevieve Morris creates a work grounded in the realities and rhythms of our lives. Playing with contrasts, effort and a deep connection between bodies on stage, the movement she finds is bold, demanding and tethered to a heightened sense of self.
AUSTI. is the Illawarra’s only pre-professional company for elite contemporary dancers aged 17-25 years. The company has received many accolades including the 2011 Sydney Fringe Festival (SFF) Most Outstanding Dance Production; 2018 SFF Critics Choice Award and an AUSDANCE Australian Dance Awards nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Youth Dance. AUSTI. builds strong, confident artists through passion and commitment.
NOTHING MORE is showing 30th & 31st May 2025, in the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre’s Bruce Gordon Theatre. The season includes 2 evening performances commencing at 7pm. The performance runs for one hour in duration with no interval. Tickets and information about the performance can be found at www.ipac.org.au.
