On Sunday, April 18 at the recent Victorian Dance Festival in Warrnambool, Directors Todd Patrick, Trish Squires, Jason Coleman, Kelly Aykers and Paul Malek stood proudly on the stage to announce that the host city for the 2017 Energetiks Victorian Dance Festival will be Melbourne!
The Victorian Dance Festival together with Energetiks and Dance Informa, with four full time dance schools from Melbourne are thrilled that the festival will be held in the state’s capital city in the iconic Melbourne Town Hall.
The Festival has grown over the past four years, and now attracts dancers not just from regional areas in Victoria, but all over Australia.
“Energetiks is incredibly excited to partner with the Victorian Dance Festival to bring you the 2017 Energetiks Victorian Dance Festival,” says Elysia Mangier, Energetiks Marketing Manager. “VDF is a not-to-be-missed event that offers our wonderful community not only the opportunity to learn from the industry’s best (including a top secret international artist…), but share an experience, meet new friends and create irreplaceable memories. Victorian Dance Festival and Energetiks share a passion of supporting and connecting our wonderful community through dance. We can’t wait to see you at next year’s festival in Melbourne!”
The Victorian Dance Festival has always been about celebrating all abilities and holding the festival in Melbourne will allow easy access for dancers from all over the country.
Founder and Director Kate Meade says, “The Festival would never have been possible without the support of the dance community and businesses, and now, to have the leaders in the dance industry taking over the artistic vision is a dream come true. To have Todd, Trish, Jason, Kelly and Paul helping to create the program for the 2017 event ensures we are growing and developing the Festival in a way which we can all be proud of.”
To celebrate the Festival coming to Melbourne, event organisers have released 100 $100 tickets to the Festival workshops! The celebration tickets are on sale now until sold out or the 30th of June 2016.
