Circa’s ‘Wolf’ Premieres in Brisbane: A Ferocious Acrobatic Spectacle

This November, Circa brings its electrifying new production, Wolf, to Brisbane for its highly anticipated Australian premiere. A gasp-inducing acrobatic thrill ride, Wolf features a cast of ten extraordinary Circa artists who grasp, tear, climb, leap, and balance with fierce abandon, embodying the untamed spirit of the wolf. Clad in designer Libby McDonnell’s striking, form-hugging costumes and propelled by DJ Ori Lichtik’s relentless primal rhythms, the performance pulses with raw energy and breathtaking physicality.

Directed by Yaron Lifschitz, Wolf explores the wolf as a symbol of our wild, liberating, and anarchic selves. Across two contrasting acts, the ensemble transforms from chaotic disruptors into a ferocious pack, delivering intense choreographies that overflow with power and precision. Following its world premiere in Berlin in August 2024, where critics hailed it as a “theatrical miracle” (Online Merker) and “group artistry in perfect choreography” (Berlin Morgenpost), Wolf promises to captivate Brisbane audiences with its savage beauty.

Produced by Circa and Chamäleon Berlin, with La Comète as a co-producer, Wolf is circus with fangs—an 80-minute spectacle with a brief interval, showcasing Circa’s signature blend of acrobatics and artistry. Don’t miss this chance to join the pack and experience a work of art that makes you hold your breath.

Wolf will be at QPAC’s Playhouse 12-15 November. Book now.
