Sydney’s Hayes Theatre Co is set to dazzle audiences with the NSW premiere of Bright Star, a soul-stirring musical by comedy legend Steve Martin and folk-pop icon Edie Brickell, opening 5 September, 2025. This heartfelt production, presented in collaboration with the acclaimed Sport For Jove, promises an unforgettable blend of bluegrass charm and Broadway flair, showcasing a remarkable cast and Tony-nominated score that will captivate theatergoers.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ‘40s, Bright Star is inspired by a true story to deliver a sweeping tale of love, loss, and redemption. The story follows literary editor Alice Murphy, whose encounter with a young soldier fresh from World War II sparks a journey to unravel her past, revealing truths that transform their lives.
