The upcoming season of NGV Friday Nights offers a lively yet intimate evening at the gallery, where visitors can enjoy an after-hours exploration of the 2025 Melbourne Winter Masterpieces® blockbuster French Impressionism from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston at NGV International.

Every Friday evening the NGV will present live music performances spanning genres including jazz, contemporary classical, R&B, neo-soul and electronic. Highlights of this season’s lineup include Intermood’s blend of psychedelic jazz and high-energy neo-disco, Bumpy’s fusion of R&B and neo-soul, Fia Feill’s ethereal soundscapes, and Wild Gloriosa’s soulful sounds.

Dining in the Great Hall and Gallery Kitchen will serve a crafted menu, perfect for leisurely winter dining.

Other pop-up experiences include the Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar, serving the distinguished Moët & Chandon Impérial Brut and Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial champagnes; the Yering Station Wine Bar serving curated wine flights featuring exceptional wines from the Yarra Valley; and the Häagen-Dazs ice-cream cart features a selection of premium flavours including Belgian Chocolate, Vanilla, Salted Caramel and Strawberries & Cream.

NGV Friday Nights includes late-night access to French Impressionism, presented in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and showcasing over 100 masterworks by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Camille Pissarro, Édouard Manet, Berthe Morisot, Edgar Degas, Mary Cassatt, and more. French Impressionism will take visitors on a journey through the evolution of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism in late nineteenth-century France, experiencing firsthand the radical vision of avant-garde artists who challenged tradition to forge a new artistic path.

The unique exhibition design of French Impressionism will evoke the original French and Bostonian interiors from the late nineteenth century that originally housed works such as those on display. Guests will experience immersive spaces, including wallpapers, drapery, furnishings, and a magnificent 1920s Erard grand piano within the exhibition’s salon room.

Tony Ellwood AM, Director, NGV said: ‘The NGV Friday Nights series brings the magic of the French Impressionists to life after dark, welcoming visitors to experience an incredible exhibition in a unique evening setting. The program offers a distinctive blend of visual art, live entertainment, and dining throughout the winter months.’

NGV Friday Nights takes place every Friday from 6 June 2025 to 3 October 2025 at NGV International, St Kilda Road, Melbourne. Further information and tickets are available via the NGV website
