The 2025 Adelaide Festival will be held 28 February – 16 March 2025. The Festival’s opening weekend will include a mass dance celebration choreographed by one of the hottest names in Australian contemporary dance – Stephanie Lake – and any dancers and dance teachers are invited to be a part of it.

Dance schools, teachers and dancers from any style (ballet, jazz, hip hop, swing, contemporary, tap, ballroom, salsa, samba, aerobics, belly dance) and with a broad range of experience, skill level and ability are all invited to submit an expression of interest to be a part of this epic community project.

Participants will have the opportunity to join a massive cast of dancers from all genres and walks of life in this huge celebration of movement by Stephanie Lake Company, commissioned by Adelaide Festival and The Australian Ballet.

Adelaide Festival is looking for dance teachers who facilitate regular classes for students aged 12 and over – from all dance genres, demographics, ages, abilities and skill levels – who are interested in helping prepare a team for this community performance. Dance teachers will learn a unique choreography from Stephanie Lake and teach the piece in class or with their dance team in the lead-up to the Festival, to be performed alongside hundreds of other Adelaidean dancers. Final rehearsals with all participants will be held during the week commencing 24 February 2025, with the performance on 1 March. To find out more and to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), visit www.adelaidefestival.com.au/info/2025-dancer-call-out.

The Festival is also looking for dancers who regularly attend classes, aged anywhere from 12-100 years old and from all dance genres, demographics, abilities and skill levels, to perform. Dancers are encouraged to take part through classes, schools or as part of a team, and the Festival will attempt to pair dancers with a participating group where possible. If dancers are confident to learn the choreography independently via a video, this may be an option if appropriate to their individual skill level, experience, location and other needs.
