Peter Pan panto by Bonnie Lythgoe Productions

2017 is set to be a big year for panto in Australia as it will be the first time that Bonnie Lythgoe Productions will present its world-class pantomime outside of Sydney. Lythgoe’s brand-new show The Adventures of Peter Pan and Tinker Bell will open on June 23 at the Gold Coast Arts Centre, playing till July 1. The show will then fly into Sydney’s State Theatre on July 7-16 before taking off to Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre for July 21-30.

Producer Bonnie Lythgoe announced the cast earlier this year, with one of Australia’s favourite (and hardest working) performers, Todd McKenney, set to play Captain Hook. The lead roles of Peter Pan and Tinker Bell will be performed by Tim Maddren and Jaime Hadwen, respectively.

Katrina Retallick will play Mrs. Darling and Mimi the Magic Mermaid while Robyn Loau will be Tiger Lilly. Actors Mark Jones and Kev Orkian will share the role of Smee.

Lythgoe recently held auditions on the Gold Coast to cast The Lost Boys. The roles of Wendy, Michael and John Darling will be announced soon.

This production promises to feature “sumptuous glittering sets, spectacular effects, gorgeous fairytale costumes, fantastic song and dance numbers, infectious and riotous comedy, magic and bags of audience participation.”
