Deck Chairs and Dancing

Riverside Theatres in Parramatta, Sydney is living a summer dream this January by introducing several Cinema programs across the lively and busy performance centre. Indoor screenings will be in the Lennox and Raffertys venues and Deckchair Flicks will host movies in the covered courtyard where patrons can settle back in a deckchair to enjoy a perfect evening of entertainment.

Before each screening during the week of Deckchair Flicks – Dance, Western Sydney Dance Action is coordinating 15 minute live dance performances reflecting the dance style of the following movie as well celebrating and complementing the Sydney Festival Dance Program at Riverside and in Parramatta.

Running through to January 30, Riverside will screen movies for kids, families, dance and theatre lovers and more. From Sprok-ets for little kids to National Theatre Live’s Hamlet for big kids and prices from $6, there is a movie for all and for patrons to visit Riverside more than once.

DeckChair Flicks will feature dance and arama with movies including, Mao’s Last Dancer, Animal Kingdom, Billy Elliot, The Social Network and The Red Shoes.  And don’t miss some of the dance docos and curios that are sure to delight, surprise and intrigue…
