International Virtual Dance Workshop

World Dance Movement 2010 hosts first ever international virtual workshop

If travelling to Italy this July is not an option, don’t miss out on the World Dance Movement experience.  Michèle Assaf of Tezoro Productions has partnered with The Dance Off to bring the 2010 World Dance Movement online.   Students everywhere can now take class from the international workshop’s world-renowned faculty from the comfort of their own studio, whenever they want.

World Dance Movement’s goal is to provide dancers and educators from all continents with the incredible opportunity to study-vacation in an Italian paradise with an international faculty of unparalleled talent.  However, sometimes international travel doesn’t fit a dancer’s budget or schedule.  With the convenience of on-demand access and no travel requirements, World Dance Movement Online delivers culturally-diverse and intimate instruction from Michèle Assaf, Bruno Collinet, Desmond Richardson, Joshua Pelatzky, Stacey Tookey and Rhapsody.  And although virtual, the online international workshop offers a real-life feeling of dancing in the room with these distinguished teachers.

“As the Artistic Director of an international dance convention for 17 years, I can assure you there is nothing like training with master teachers and dancers from so many diverse cultures,” said Michèle Assaf, Artistic Director of World Dance Movement.  “World Dance Movement is so excited to have the opportunity to partner with The Dance-Off to bring this experience to dancers world-wide that might not be able to attend the event in person this year.  WDM is an intimate intensive with no more than 80 dancers in a room ever!  Some classes might have only 40 in them. You will certainly feel the one-on-one attention and corrections that the teachers share with all the dancers. Give yourself and your students this lifetime opportunity and join us in breath-taking Castellana Grotte, Italy, either in-person or virtually.”

“’World Dance Movement’ is just that, master teachers and dancers from all over the world, uniting through dance and collectively learning from one another,” said Co-Founder, Artistic Director of Complexions Contemporary Ballet and World Dance Movement faculty member, Desmond Richardson.  “It is an experience not to be missed, an opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and learn about different cultures and investing oneself for ultimate growth.”

“At The Dance Off, our mission is to provide inexpensive and alternative learning options to dancers across the world,” said Brittany Hastings Hill, founder of The Dance Off and former professional dancer and award-winning choreographer.  “We’re thrilled to partner with World Dance Movement and their outstanding faculty to bridge international waters through technology.  With the first-ever international virtual workshop, we can see dancers in the U.S., Australia, Asia and many other countries virtually attending class in Italy from their own studios. This truly is groundbreaking for the dance industry, and we’re happy to be a part of it!”

Beginning July 19, World Dance Movement Online will deliver over 45 intermediate and advanced-professional classes to its registrants around the world.  Studios, school groups and independent students are encouraged to participate, and can learn more and register online at www.worlddancemovement.com.  Whether live or virtually, World Dance Movement is a revolutionary event matched by no other summer intensive that brings together a crossroads of cultures, talents and opportunities.
